  • CONFIGURATION

    Q. How do I log in remotely to my system?

    A. Go to emedicalnotes.com then on the L lower part of the screen you will find a place where you can put your server name and click on GO. It should connect you to your own server directy. Note that you have to have the permission to connect remotely to be able to log in. An administrator inside your office can give you that permisssion.

    Q. I connect to https://master inside the office, the computer takes me to ticketmaster.

    A. Try to connect to the IP address of the server directly instead. It should be in the form of https://192.168.xxx.xxx. if you are not sure of the IP address of the server please call our support.

    Q. I am trying to log in from home but I am unable to. Why?

    A. Because your user account is not setup to log in from a remote site. Check with the administrator if you require access from a remote site.

    Q. Do I have to backup my files each business day?

    A. No this is one of the wonderful features that are included with the package.

    Q. Can I transfer a patients file via email?

    A. No this is a HIPPA violation.

    Q. How long do I have technical support?

    A. Technical Support is offered for the first three years and then fee based after the 3 years.

    Q Is there a fee for the engineer to come on-site for tech support?

    A. If the nature of the support call is qualified as an EMN issue then NO. If the problem lies outside of the EMN system then a service fee applies.

    Q. Is there a manual or help screen directly in the program for troubleshooting?

    A. There is not a manual at this time but in future releases to come it may be available.

    Q. How do I see patients if the computer is down and my charts are electronic?

    A. Well if the EMN Server is down then the office can work off the backup site until it is back up.

    Q. How long does it take to convert over to EmedicalNotes EMR?

    A. To convert an entire office with charts 6 months or longer depending on the amount of charts and the size of the practice.

    Q. What is the purpose for taking pictures of the patients?

    A. To assist in the identity of the patients.

    Q. Is there a screen that can “alert” the nurse if the doctor needs something in the room?

    A. There will be a red banner indicating that there is a special note about what the Doctor needs.

    Q. How do I know the fax has been sent successfully?

    A. Under "Todays Patients" You will see across the top an option F:X where X equals the amount of faxes that are currently going out. If you click on it, itwill show you a list of faxes that went out and if they were successful.

    PRINTING

    Q. How do I change printers in the EMN program?

    A. Under the MISC tab you select the Configure your Computer link. Then you update your printer under there.

    Q. How many printers can be setup on the system?

    A. Unlimited.

    SCANNING

    Q. My scanner is ready but when I push the button it doesn't do anything. Why?

    A. Chances are the scanner has lost its connection with the computer. First power off and then on. If that doesn't fix the problem reboot the computer. This will resync the hardware card of the scanner.

    Q. When I scan a document it comes up blank what will cause this.

    A. In some cases this is a permissions problem. Contact your support engineer for further assistance.

    Q. How many pages can be scanned at a time?

    A. No more than 25 pages.

    Q. Once you scan an item, can it be filed in two places?

    A. No, you would have to rescan the document.

    Q. Can I scan files in and file them later?

    A. Absolutley, except when the scanning is LINUX based ond not Windows.
